National Railway Heritage Award 2007

The landmark New Bailey Street bridges in Salford are three Grade II listed rail underbridges, each with two spans over a busy carriageway and station entrance.

Works were carried out during rail possessions for the removal, refurbishment and reinstatement of the cast iron fascia panel.

The scheme included replacement of the heavily corroded top flange to one of the bridges, including temporary works propping, steelwork repairs, waterproofing, drainage and temporary works.
